Relationship Psychotherapy

I view psychotherapy as a journey that we are taking together. As your relationship therapist, I’m here to help you manage conflict better, deepen your emotional and physical intimacy with your partner/s, and create shared meaning in your relationship/s. I will give you tools to use that you can make your own and I will coach you in how to use them.

I use the Gottman Method to work with QTI/TS Indigenous people and QTI people of color in monogamous relationships, consensually non-monogamous (CNM) relationships, and kinky relationships. I only provide relationship therapy to people in these communities because I am committed to ensuring that these relationships receive the respect, support, and nurturance they deserve.

In addition, given the high percentage of people who have experienced trauma and distressing events in their lives, I take a trauma-informed approach to my work. I have an integrative style that is sex-positivegender-affirming, anti-racist, takes an intersectional, sociopolitical view of the world, and incorporates elements of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and harm reduction psychotherapy. (Curious about how EMDR works? Check out this video.)

I work with adults who work or live in New York and New Jersey around the following issues (in alphabetical order):

  • Betrayals and infidelity
  • Communication issues
  • Emotional and physical intimacy issues
  • Ongoing conflict
  • Pre-marital/-commitment counseling

Length of sessions: Sessions are 90 minutes long. This includes five to ten minutes at the end to schedule future sessions, settle payment, and tend to other matters if necessary.

Fees: I have a sliding scale ($270-360 per session) and the fee is determined by your realistic assessment of what you can afford.

Typically, I offer in-person and cyber sessions, but during the COVID-19 pandemic, I am only conducting cyber sessions. I use the HIPAA-secure version of the Zoom videoconferencing platform that is end-to-end encrypted.
